Card payments are different. You have one big, invisible cat.
The shop asks your bank for some of that cat.
Your bank sends some invisible cat to the shop’s bank.
No tiny cats actually change hands right then.
Cards are more like invisible cat promises that we need to do.
Both ways the shop gets its cat money in the end and we get stuff from the shop.
